About the festival

The 25th of January 2011, is the date when the Egyptian revolution was born, a part from the Arab spring, flowers bloomed in Egypt's streets. The Egyptian revolution is not just a revolution it's a symbol of resistance, a vibe that everyone still feel when we walk downtown Cairo, you see it on the walls, on the faces of people and on the unspoken words.
The evil powers always fought revolutions. However, revolutions are ideas, and ideas never die. by this festival we make revolutionary ideas live forever, and we honour the memory of the great revolution of the 25th of January.
10 years passed since the glorious revolution of the 25th of January. Bringing the memory of the revolution and let it live forever in the heart of film makers; that's why we make this film festival, you can submit your film in the festival as long as it fit with the criteria of the film genres and it has a revolutionary idea.
You can apply from any place in the world, we will have special arrangements for film makers from abroad. you are always welcome as long as you have a revolutionary idea in a film.
The submitted films will first be presented to a preliminary evaluation committee; to determine if they fit with the rules of the festival or not. Also to determine if they fit with the chosen genre or not.
Afterword's the submitted films will be presented to higher experienced committee to choose five films from each genre. To be qualified to the final nominees. We will inform the film makers whom their films will reach that level.
The last stage will be through the final selection. A jury from high experienced documentary makers will watch the submitted films, that will make it to the final nominees and they will give points for each film. The film which will get the highest points in each genre will win the award, The announcing will be in the event; which will be held in Oegstgeest, the Netherlands, on the 29 of January 2021.

1- Best Documentary:
There will be 5 films in the final nominees and the best film will win an award plus 500$.

2- Best Mobile film:
There will be 5 films in the final nominees and the best film will win an award plus 350$.

3-Best Refugee film:
There will be 5 films in the final nominees and the best film will win an award plus 500$.

Terms and rules

General conditions:
- The submitted films can be about a revolutionary person, dead or a life, it can be about an idea; applied or still not applied.
- Only revolutionary films are welcome to be a part of our festival.
- All submitted films must be made in the last 2 years max.
- All the submitted films must be in English or translated to English.

Specific conditions:
1- Best Documentary
The submitted documentaries must be less than 20 minutes.

2- Best Mobile film
The submitted film must be less than 10 minutes. It can be a documentary or a short fiction film.

3-Best Refugee film
This award is given to a film made by refugees filmmakers.
If it's a documentary it must be less than 20 minutes. And if it's a mobile film, mobile documentary or a short fiction film, it must be less than 10 minutes.
