About the festival

ALL FILMS GET A FREE HOTEL ROOM DURING THE FESTIVAL- Shorts, Features, Docs - ALL FILMS! We know how hard filmmakers work to create their projects that our audiences love, so we want to make sure our filmmakers can attend the festival to interact with the audience during the weekend. We've done it since year one and we're adding even more perks each year.

The Adirondack Film Festival screens over 100 films in one weekend to thousands of viewers annually. The festival features panel discussions, virtual reality experiences, an art gallery filled with artwork inspired by the films, filmmaker breakfasts, multiple parties & special events, and a selection of indie and studio feature length and short films of all kinds and genres with an emphasis on diversity, all taking place on 7 screens in downtown Glens Falls. With all locations in walking distance in the middle of a charming city surrounded by restaurants, mountains, parks, and shopping... And, again, All AFF filmmakers receive a complimentary hotel room! #LBGTQIA #FemaleFilmmakers #POCFilmmakers #ALLAREWELCOME #FREEPOPCORN

Terms and rules

All students are eligible to submit in the student section at the reduced rate, just simply upload your valid student ID to FilmFreeway or send it in an email to Programming Director, Jessica Levandoski jessicamendel@gmail.com

In order to be eligible for the Stage to Screen category your project must be based off of a theatrical play or a work in progress production. Original content or proof of permission must be provided upon acceptance.

Entries that have been submitted to previous Adirondack Film Festival are not eligible.

ADKFF does not provide screening fees for films in competition.

Because of the number of entries received, not all entries are chosen to screen during the Festival. A prescreening committee, comprised of filmmakers, videomakers, and other artists associated with the Adirondack Film Festival, will watch and evaluate each entry to determine which works are selected for screening during the Festival.

All works that showcase high artistic merit are welcome. This includes shorts, documentaries of all lengths, features and experimental (including web series and shorts.) Please take note of the category.

* Please note *
We do not accept mailed in screeners (please do not send DVDs, BLURAYs, or flash drives to our office).

We do not accept prescreening materials through email and are unable to download files from sharing services. Submissions are only accepted through our FilmFreeway or other online accounts.

An entrant must accept our prescreening process; Entries must be original works. Adirondack Film Festival is hereby granted the right to utilize an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes. The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations. The undersigned shall indemnify and hold harmless Adirondack Film Festival from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.

By submitting your film you agree (if selected) to let the Adirondack Film Festival screen your film during the festival and any subsequent "best of festival" screenings TBD following the selected calendar year, and up until the next festival date.
