GENERAL RULES OF PARTICIPATION
The Festival's submissions are open to only animation films produced in Africa and should have been produced after 1st January 2016. All submitted animated should be in one of the categories below:
- 2D Short Animated Film
- 3D Short Animated Film
- Short Animation Film For Kids
- Long Animation Feature Film
- TV Animation Series
- African Animated Music Video
- African Animated Commercial
SUBMISSION PROCEDURE
‣ The submitted work must be in the final edited version,Unfinished films will not be taken into consideration.
‣ Submitted films with dialogue or narration in languages other than English should have English subtitles.
FORMAT OF SUBMISSION:
- Video format: QuickTime .mov or.mp4
- Compression: H264
- Resolution: 1920x1080 (1080p)
- The original aspect ratio of the video format can be standard (4:3) or widescreen (16:9)
- Your file must be named the same as the "Film Title" and the appropriate extension. If your short animation is not named properly, it will not be considered for the Africa Animation Awards 2019.

Each entrant may submit only one entrant
JURY & AWARDS
The awards winners selection is carried out by our selected professionals jury team. Their duty is to preview each work entered on time and decide upon final film selection. The shortlisted winners selected will be announced on the 15th June 2019 while winners on 1st November 2019 during the awards ceremony. Each director whose animation is shortlisted will be contacted by the Awards management team for hospitality arrangements to attend the Africa Animation Awards 2019 Ceremony.
RIGHTS &PERMISSIONS
Each applicant declares to be the author or rights owner of the submitted animated film and must have obtained all the necessary rights (including music rights), consents, authorizations and licenses covering the animated film.
The producers and directors of award-winning films should mention the name of the prize, the year and the name of the Festival (Africa Animation Awards 2019 ) in all promotional materials for the film.
The Festival has rights to use all materials related to the submission as well as a animation excerpt up to 10 per cent of the total length of the animation that will not exceed more than 2 minutes for promotional purposes. The Awards Festival does not reserve the right to use the submitted animated films for non-commercial, educational purposes unless given permission by the owner.
ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
Participation in the Festival, and its film submission process, implies acceptance, without reservation, to the terms of the present regulations.
The story telling format is to by nature very authentic, clear and honest, creating a distinct voice in the region of Africa.
