About the festival

African Film Awards- African Voice International Film Festival formerly known as Afro Hollywood Awards. Founded in 1996, AFA pioneered the exhibition of African cinema and honouring African filmmakers/practitioners in the UK.
AFA African Voice International Film Festival encourage competiton amongst filmmakers, promote excellence and encourage international distributions.
The Festival encourage international collaboration and increase the global recognition of practitioners. The glamourous awards night attracts investors, agents and international casting directors. The final awards night is attended by high networth individuals, diplomats, celebrities from all walks of life. AFA in its 23rd year, is the most prestigious African film industry awards.

The African Film Awards - African voice International Film Festival is a prestigious laurel. The award celebrates excellence and promote the growing film industry in Africa and filmmakers of Black/African descent. African Film Awards in its 23rd year, has grown to be the international voice of Africa.

African Film Awards (AFA) is a United Kingdom based film festival with an annual film screenings at the Stratford Town Hall, Stratford, London alongside its annual awards event at the same venue.
AFA is seeking for independent works from all genres from all countries, especially from Africans and Africans in the Diaspora, especially from growing film industry across the world.
The summitted works are judged by selected experts from the academies’ and film industry, guided by a high standard of merit and rules. The shortlisted finalists are screened and winners are announced at AFA annual awards night.
All submitted works can be judged under multiple categories. The names to be credited in each category should be clearly indicated on the accompanying letter via email to: marketing@africanvoiceonline.co.uk.
Awards & Prizes
All entries are to be promoted through our social media and newspaper website with a dedicated page with synopsis, film stills and film trailer.
For this purpose, we recommend that all works must be fully summited on FilmFreeway, including film stills, production pictures, downloadable poster, and trailer or teaser.
All works officially shortlisted will receive the African Film Awards logo and publicity on the website.
Awards judges scores are based on quality, creativity and performance scale and winning works are honoured with the prestigious AFA laurels.
