About the festival

The AGH Film Festival is Hamilton's largest showcase of cinema and has grown to become one of the largest film festivals in Ontario. Hosting 10,000 attendees annually, the AGH Film Festival showcases the best narrative and documentary feature and short films from around the world. The festival has been operated by the Art Gallery of Hamilton since 1999 and screens in theatres across the city.

The festival's mandate is to present critical and innovative cinema to our community and provide a high profile platform to emerging voices, social issues and communities. It is also our mandate to support artists by paying minimum IMAA screening fees to all films that screen as part of our festival.
