About the festival

NEWS ! Theo Rossi invites you to submit your film now! Check it out -> http://is.gd/LE1aBg

Drive right up and get your film seen by award winning professionals. Screen your movie for thousands on a huge screen. It's a blast.

The All-American Drive-In is a retro event that features selected festival shorts followed by a vintage Hollywood feature. Last year, over 7,000 people pulled in, parked and took in the show.

A poignant moment ... when the winner of the student award, a high schooler named Joy, came up to accept her prize the camera focussed on her and the crowd went wild. There she was on the forty foot screen being cheered on by a chorus of honking horns. Her unpretentious film about ethnicity entitled "Beautiful Hair", was so moving that the film was considered a gift by the audience. Joy is now in her first year at USC film school. Go Joy!

We expect to see a lot of great shorts this year. That forty footer is a great way to see them really big in glorious HD. Impress the judges. They include award winning filmmakers, producers, film students, professors and historians. NYC has never had a festival this much fun.

Oh yeah, our After, After Dark screening and zombie walk is also a scream.

The All-American Drive-In Judges will choose the top picks to screen and award two prizes for the best, most awesome shorts. The judges include Theo Rossi, filmmaker and star of Sons of Anarchy; Emmy Award winners: producers Nikki Silver (The Giver) Dolores Morris (HBO) and Orly Wiseman (PBS); Director Ed Wiseman; Editor Matt Hensel; NYC filmmakers; curators of material culture at Historic Richmond Town.

A $500 prize will be given to each winner.
