About the festival

AURORA CINE INVERNO, November session is now open!
Aurora's team is now calling submitters and organising monthly winter screenings in the Auditorium of San Potito Sannitico, a place that has met many cinema makers and works produced and realised in the very village thanks to projects aim to support independent cinema and participatory art.
The winter sessions will be under the name of AURORA CINE INVERNO, and will be opened by a special AURORA OFF event with selected movies from last summer event AURORA FILM FESTIVAL..
Some of selected titles during the Aurora Cine Inverno's sessions (November2020-March 2021) might be included in the Program of Aurora Film Fest in the summer 2021.

Aurora for us mean new beginning, starting from scratch, leaving behind the old and the known for a fresh start. That is how we see art of filmmaking, regardless of budget.
We are inviting creators of underground, under-known, rough movies. Low Budget, analog format, short, long, they must tell us about an imaginative story, a fantastic scenario, a fresh and unseen way to see the world.

Aurora Cine Inverno, as an outcome of AURORA FILM FESTIVAL, wants to showcase inspired movies to encourage independent and underground daring film making.
We want to be surprised!

All right to show the movies must belong to the directors. We do not deal with production rights, only when it comes to music.
Sections are:

Italian shorts
International shorts
italian animation
international animation
feature (more than 50 minutes)
music world

Cinema Arena Aurora was a private enterprise created by Mr Antonio Iannitto, a fellow from the village of San Potito Sannitico, Italy, who coming back from America's dream before the war brought a projector with him and decided to launch an open air cinema.
After many years of inactivity, last summer we reopened the cinema and we did it with style: the very first AURORA FILM FESTIVAL.

San Potito Sannitico has a long lasting love for the moving image, hosting creators in many occasions, being itself the stage for short and long independent movies.
We are running this way.

We will watch every submission. Films will carefully selected upon our expectation, but we are sure all entries will be seriously good.

There will be no awards during the Aurora Cine Inverno, but there might be some special mentions, upon organisers' decision.
