About the festival

AzDroneFest & Education Expo is a film festival and Education Expo presented by USDroneFest and Airavat Solutions. The event is designed to educate, promote, cultivate and celebrate the art of aerial cinematography in Arizona. The film festival is dedicated to recognizing the best in aerial cinematography in multiple categories. Attached to the film festival is an Education Expo with industry panel discussions, keynote speakers and workshops for commercial drone pilots, drone enthusiasts and aerial cinematographers to attend.

Terms and rules

All films must be 5 minutes in length or less and at least 50% must be shot using a drone or UAV (unless otherwise specified).

Films submitted to the "Narrative category" have no length restrictions and can have less than 50% of its shots being aerial shots. Films in this category will be selected based on aerial cinematography only. Selected films will be asked to provide a 5 min or less trailer to be used during the screening.

By entering your film for consideration for the 2020 AZDroneFest, you authorize that your work is cleared for festival exhibition and accept full legal responsibility for the intellectual property therein. Entry into the Festival constitutes permission to exhibit, show, or screen your work at the 2020 AZDroneFest and AZDroneFest website, and social media platform.

AZDroneFest reserves the right to use excerpts of any submitted film for promotional purposes only, including but not limited to broadcast on TV or the internet.

The person submitting the Film (hereafter called the "Applicant") acknowledges that he or she has obtained consent from any and all owners, creators, writers, actors, producers and/or other authorized representatives of the Film whose consent is required to submit the Film to the Festival.

It is the sole responsibility of the Applicant to secure authorization and permission from the copyright owner(s) of any and all copyrighted content or materials included within the submitted Film. It is the sole responsibility of the Applicant to secure authorization and permission from the owner(s) of any and all trademarked content and materials included within the submitted Film.

Films that have been submitted for Festival consideration in previous years are eligible for re-submission for 2020 Festival consideration, but only if the Film has been changed significantly since the previous year in which it was submitted. The Festival shall have sole authority and discretion to determine whether a Film that was previously submitted has been changed significantly from the previous submitted version.

Festival organizers reserve the right to make exception to any of the rules at their discretion.
