About the festival

"BECAUSE GREAT FILMS SHOULD BE EASY TO FIND" - blackfilm.com

Established in 1998, blackfilm.com is the leading website linking the Black film community and international audiences interested their work. With a minimum of 3 million page views a month we invite filmmakers to not only reach their desired audience base online, but forge their relationship via our digital distribution partnerships, IOS/Android screening apps and of course placement on social media and various OTT/SVOD/AVOD digital platforms.

Prior to our digital curation, blackfilm.com was the first to host a national screening series showcasing the works of independent filmmakers of color. The series brought groundbreaking films to audiences that may not have been available otherwise. Historically, the series screened at the Lincoln Center in NY, the Director's Guild of America in LA, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, the Rialto Center in Atlanta, the U.S. Navy Memorial Foundation in D.C. and the African-American Museum in Detroit.

Past blackfilm.com Strategic Partners: BMW, The New York Times, Chase, Toyota, Nissan, HBO, Kodak, Adidas, Tanqueray, Absolut Vodka, Warner Bros, Dreamworks, NBC Universal

All accepted submissions will receive a detailed filmmaker agreement which provides 50% of all net revenue when selected films are programmed and screened on AVOD / SVOD and transactional digital platforms. This is exclusive of our live screening series hosted nationwide as well as watch night screenings on Facebook and other social outlets.
