The CaribbeanTales International Film Festival (CTFF) celebrates the talents of established and emerging filmmakers of Caribbean heritage who practise their art across the Caribbean Diaspora worldwide – including Canada and the Caribbean, Europe, the Americas, Africa, China, India and the Middle East. CTFF presents a multi-ethnic mix of exciting and dynamic films that showcase diverse shared stories and cultures.

Terms and rules

All lengths and genres from Caribbean filmmakers accepted.

CaribbeanTales seeks works made by filmmakers from Caribbean backgrounds and/or that celebrate and explore Caribbean themes, and themes of interest and relevance to people from the Caribbean Diaspora.

Preview copy must be sent through secure online storage via the entry form

The participant must pay print shipping costs to Toronto. The festival will pay the cost of shipping exhibition prints back to the participant. Please do not send preview or screening copies by courier, as these may incur customs and duties charges. CaribbeanTales will not cover these charges, and will refuse the package.

Please have your marketing materials ready. We do a significant amount of marketing for the festival and without proper imagery it is difficult to promote films.
Please provide a HIGH RES POSTER image for your film (at least 800x1200px minimum 150dpi).
Include 2 STILL SHOTS from your film
Include 2 PRODUCTION STILLS.

Please have your Electronic Press Kit (EPK) ready for submission in the form.

Films in foreign languages must be subtitled in English.

All film submissions must be completed online.

All preview copies will be added to CT’s archives for consideration in our year-round international programming, unless filmmaker indicates in writing that they do not wish it so.

"Documentary" has been described as a "filmmaking practice, a cinematic tradition, and mode of audience reception" that is continually evolving and is without clear boundaries.

A scripted film with actors. The narrative is the main focus, how the director shapes the story for the medium of the film. A feature film is a film (also called a movie, motion picture or just film) with a running time long enough to be considered the principal or sole film to fill a program. The notion of how long this should be has varied according to time and place. This running time is over 40 minutes.
