Aiming to reflect on the problems caused by the humanitarian and refugee crisis that we’re currently facing, this year CINE VIVO opened its annual Short Film Competition to productions from all over the world and focused on two of the most pressing global challenges of our times: HUMAN RIGHTS and MIGRATION.

CINE VIVO, Perth Independent Latino Film Festival is an annual film festival based in Australia showcasing innovative, independent cinema from Latin America.

The Jury will choose the 2 best short films amongst the pre-selected films within 2 categories: General entries and Students.

The 2 winners will receive a prize of 350 AUD each. The awards are:

Best short film – category ‘General’ 350 AUD

Best short film – category ‘Students’ 350 AUD

Terms and rules

1) All the short films:
· Should be around the topics HUMAN RIGHTS and MIGRATION CRISIS;
· Should be completed on or after 1st January 2013;
· Can be produced in any Country of the world and must have hard coded English subtitles if the original language is not English;
· Should not exceed 25 minutes in duration (including all titles and credits);

2) The submission of the short-film doesn’t guarantee the participation to the Festival and is considered an acknowledgement of the Festival rules;

3) The registration of multiple short films per organization or person is allowed, however, a separate registration form and entry fee is required for each short-film;

4) All the short films must be submitted before 10th October 2018 and can be sent via the digital platform – https://filmfreeway.com/festival/CINEVIVO

Please do not send DVD copy of the film to our mail address unless requested.
At time of submission we will only accept entries if the film is uploaded to FilmFreeway or emailed to shortfilmcompetition@cinevivo.com.au.
All films must contain the following information:
"Title, Director, production Country, year of production and contact details"

5) The short films that are selected for the final screening can’t be withdrawn under any circumstances.

6) Cinev Vivo Perth Independent Latino Film Festival reserves the rights to use the material submitted by the participants in any form for the festival’s promotional and archival purposes.

7) The scheduling, timetable and screening of the selected films shall be at the discretion of the festival and can be changed at any time. The organisers reserve the right to modify the terms and conditions of the contest without any suggestion to the participants at any time after the launch of the competition.

The film makers release Perth Latino Film Festival, its administrative team, jury, agencies & agents, sponsors or any related person/organisation from any claim or responsibility originated from the short film registration and/or participation to the festival.
- By submitting the film, the person responsible for its registration acknowledges having all the necessary copyrights.

8) The representatives of all winning short films will be contacted whenever possible to be given the correspondent prize. The winners will also be announced through our communication media and website. The monetary price will be sent through PayPal or bank transfer.
