About the festival

CAFF (cMOVIE ASIA Film Festival) is a renowned online web film festival dedicated to the promotion of showcasing the spirit, passion and skills of independent filmmakers in ASIA to the audience around the world. With the help of digital media technology and crowdfunding, it is now getting easier for anyone to just take up a camera and make a film. The most important ingredients in the mix is finding your own voice, the creative ideas and mastering the skills necessary to make a captivating experience.

However, with the increasing number of works being produced and the reshaping of cinema and major film festivals, it is now much harder to connect a online web audience s to non-mainstream arthouse films. It is the conviction of the CAFF team that filmmakers who put their heart and soul to tell a story should have the chance to show their works to a crowd, even if the budget is small or no recognizable name is involved.

CAFF is based in SEOUL, a city in KOREA that opens to the ASIA and has a thriving creative industry. We have one yearly festival together with the filmmakers in ASIA for the audiences on international online web.

CAFF is a festival that specifically helps independent filmmakers to raise their visibility through the web. We do so by creating and taking care of your communication online.
Filmmakers competing in festivals that require them not to show their films online, can submit their films and share the trailer, teaser or behind the scenes video. Judges will award the best films through private screenings.

"We are committed to look at every entry we received to select only those that represent the CAFF spirit well. We love the yin and yang of topics - from edgier, pull no punches stuff to those concerning humanities and the environment”

All Winners will be contracted for International VOD distribution at cMovie.Asia online web-platform during a festival period and receiving revenue sharing report.
