EarthxFilm showcases films, augmented and virtual reality and emerging media that explore conservation, climate change, and the environment while honoring the heroes working to protect our planet. Our mission is to turn awareness into action, through art and media. We achieve our goals by partnering with top environmental, film and entertainment organizations across the globe. All films submitted to EARTHxFilm MUST have an environmental or social topic. We are seeking stories that explore ideas in programming area that encompass:
- Climate
- Earth
- Innovation
- Life
- Energy
- Communities
- Virtual Reality

Within this programming, we welcome films that focus on topics that include but are not limited to:
- Climate Change
- Conservation
- Energy
- Food & Agriculture
- Water & Ocean
- Wildlife
- Recycling & Conservation
- Cities & Transportation
- Social justice

Submission categories include:

NARRATIVE FEATURE
- Films must have a 60-minute minimum run time.
- Fictional films with topics relating to nature and the environment.

DOCUMENTARY FEATURE
- Films must have a 60-minute minimum run time.
- Non-fiction films with topics relating to nature and the environment.

SHORT
- Films may have a maximum run time of 59 minutes.
- Films may be of any genre (narrative, documentary, animation, etc.), but must relate to the topic of nature and environment.

STUDENT SHORT
- Films may have a maximum run time of 25 minutes.
- Projects must have been made as part of undergraduate or graduate university or college program. High school shorts are not accepted at this time (high school competitions are run separately online).
- Films may be any of genre (narrative, documentary, animation, etc.), but must relate to the topic of nature and environment.
- Any student PSA’s 60 seconds or less will be eligible for the online PSA competition with total prize money of $6,000.

EarthX convenes the world’s largest environmental expo, conference and film festival. Founded in 2011 as Earth Day Dallas by environmentalist and businessman Trammell S. Crow, the Texas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization promotes environmental awareness and impact through conscious business, nonpartisan collaboration, and community-driven sustainable solutions. Terms and rules

**Submissions are accepted as online screeners only.**

DVD and Blu-rays will not be accepted or reviewed. Passwords for secured screeners must be updated with the programming department.

Non-English entries must be submitted with English subtitles.

Entry fees may be paid by credit card or check and are non-refundable.

Only film submissions completed after April 1, 2019, will be considered for the 2020 festival.

Rough cuts and work-in-progress cuts are accepted and should be indicated as such. The programming department cannot guarantee that programmers will be able to review an updated cut at later date.

Upon selection to the festival, a digital press kit will be required for all participating films. Filmmakers will be notified when digital materials are needed.

If accepted to the festival, an exhibition copy of the film must arrive at the EARTHxFilm offices no later than March 23, 2020. EarthxFilm covers outbound shipping costs only. Do not send original master prints or copies.

EarthxFilm is granted the right to utilize an excerpt, image(s) or other information from any film accepted for exhibition at the festival for promotional purposes.

It is the responsibility of the filmmaker to secure authorization for any copyrighted material that may be used in the film. EarthxFilm is held harmless from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, expenses or liabilities that may be incurred by reason of any claim involving trademarks, copyright, credits, publicity or screening of any film.

Films selected for EarthxFilm will be notified by March 6, 2020.
