The Etowah Film Festival manifested from a simple question: How is a city with such a beautiful theatre not hosting an amazing film festival?
Canton, Georgia is only 30 miles north of Atlanta and home to the historic Canton Theatre. Its history dates back to 1911 when the theatre was a popular scene for silent movies. Canton has since become a popular location for recent Hollywood productions like "American Made" and "Hidden Figures" and the theatre still showcases movies and live theatrical productions.
Each year, we have a special block of films centralized on one theme, with proceeds going to a local organization supporting the cause. Our 2021 organization/theme will be announced soon.
The Etowah Film Festival is dedicated to creating unique experiences throughout the festival that that engage audiences and filmmakers in new ways. We will announce new winning opportunities for filmmakers as they develop throughout the year.
