About the festival

Annually, over 5 days at the end of May, visitors can view the current year’s 200+ Competition shorts, screened in every corner of the village, attend Q&As, Premieres, Workshops and Discussions, enjoy superb family entertainment at the Fringe all in the beautiful seaside town of Schull, West Cork. We at FFF endeavor to screen as many films as possible submitted to our competition each year. It is difficult for filmmakers to reach large audiences and have their work appreciated. Our workshops attempt to provide very high quality hands on experiences for filmmakers. We concentrate on the craft of film, sharing of ideas where industry professionals and students share the same space.

The Fastnet Film Festival is very much an ‘up close and personal’ experience. Filmmakers, directors, producers and invited guest speakers all share their experiences, giving shape and direction to each year’s challenging programme. This Short Film Festival without a Cinema invites visitors to explore alternatives throughout the village of Schull, providing those who attend with something different. Distributed Cinema is Schull’s very own intranet network dedicated to short film. From a bookshop to the village hall and Gallery, and to numerous local pubs and restaurants, Schull’s network connects, through Ethernet cable and wireless, to its own short film archive on a dedicated server. Anyone with a smartphone, laptop or iPad can access the server through Wi-Fi anywhere on the main street and watch any of the past 12 years of submission films any time of the day or night.

IRISH TRANSLATION OF ABOVE RULES

Seo iad a leanas na príomh rialacha don suíomh gréasáin agus don FFW.

Le bhur dtoil, léigh na rialacha agus na rialúcháin go léir sula seolann tú do scannán isteach. Ní dhéanfar aon iarratas a mharcáil muna bhfuil gach gné den bhfoirm líonta isteach de réir na rialacha.

1) Níor chóir go mbeadh scannán an ‘Mac Léinn Éireannach is Fearr i Staidéar Scannán & Meán’ agus an ‘Scannánóir Óg is Fearr (U19)’, níos faide ná 10 nóiméad, le GACH teideal agus gach aitheantas san áireamh. Níor chóir go mbeadh iontrálacha i gcatagóirí eile níos faide ná 18 nóiméad, le GACH teideal agus gach aitheantas san áireamh.

2) Ní glacfar le haon scannán a déanadh roimh an 1ú Eanair 2019 i bhFéile 2021. Is féidir scannáin sa Chatagóir Ghaeilge a chomhlánú an 1 Eanáir 2018 nó ina dhiaidh sin le bheith incháilithe.

3) Ní glacfar le haon scannáin a cuireadh isteach agus bhí ar thaispéantas sa bhFéile cheana féin arís.

4) Muna bhfuil an scannán i mBéarla, caithfidh fotheidil códaithe crua i mBéarla a bheith leis.

5) Tá sé de chead ag FFF a dhiúltú chun iarratais a thaispeáint más an rud é go gceapann siad go bhfuil sé mí-oiriúnach. Más mian leat an cinneadh seo a cheistiú, is féidir dul i dteagmháil leo ar an ríomhphost seo - info@fastnetfilmfestival.com.

6) Déanann Coistí Réamhamhairc agus Roghnúcháin an FFF, atá ceaptha ag coiste stiúrtha na féile, gach iarratas a mheas. Tá a dtuarascálacha críochnúil agus rúnda. Cuirfear in iúl d’iarratasóirí trí ríomhphost agus fógrófar an liosta ar ár suíomh gréasáin agus ar ár leathanach Facebook sa dara sheachtain de Bhealtaine. Roghnóidh na Moltóirí Catagóire an gearrliosta i ngach catagóir. Fógrófar an liosta go déanach Dé Sathairn 29 Bealtaine 2021, agus cuirfear ar an suíomh gréasáin é, ar ár leathanach Facebook agus i bhfuinneog na hOifige Bosca. Taispeánfar na scannáin ghearrliostaithe ar an Domhnach (30) in ionaid éagsúla. Roghnófar na scannáin a bhuaigh i ngach catagóir as an ngearrliosta seo agus fógrófar iad ag ár searmanas bronnta duaiseanna oíche Dé Domhnaigh 30 Bealtaine 2021.

7) Sa chás go dtarraingítear siar scannán, ní bheidh an FFF faoi dhliteanas an táille a aisíoc nó na hábhair a iontráladh a sheoladh ar ais.

8) Is ag FFF a bheidh an cinneadh maidir leis an dáta agus an t-am a ndéanfar an t-iarratas a chur ar scáileán. Ní féidir FFF a bheith freagrach as athruithe ar an sceideal tar éis liosta an fheile a fhógairt.

9) Tugann rannpháirtíocht sa FFF cead dúinn an scannán a thaispeáint ar ár FFF líonra Inlíon sábháilte. Ní féidir breathnú air seo ach amháin i sráidbhaile Scoil Mhuire féin.

10) Tá táille ag teastáil nuair a chuirtear isteach iarratas. Féach ar shuíomh FilmFreeway le haghaidh an struchtúr íocaíochta. Cinntigh le do thoil go bhfuil do scannán réidh le cur chugainn ag am na h-iontrála.

11) Tá táille iontrála amháin in aghaidh an chatagóir. Is féidir an scannán céanna a chur isteach i gceann amháin nó níos mó de na catagóirí, ach tá táille iontrála ag teastáil i ngach catagóir.

12) Íocfaidh an rannpháirtí amháin na táillí go léir a bhaineann leis an t-iarratas a uaslódáil nó a iompar óna n-áit féin go dtí seoladh an FFF. Ní bheidh an Fhéile freagrach as costas aon ábhar breise a fháil.i. DVDanna, póstaeir, grianghraif, srl.

13) Má tá ceol nó ábhar scannáin breise á n-úsáid i do scannán, nach leat féin iad (i.e. ní cinn úrnua iad), ní mór cead a fháil ón bpríomhfoinse. Baineann an freagracht seo leis an scannánóir amháin. Má theipeann ort cead a fháil, d'fhéadfadh go dtarraingeofaí siar ar do scannán ón bhFéile. Sa chás seo, ní bheidh ar FFF an táille a aisíoc nó na hábhair a iontráladh a sheoladh ar ais.

14) Glacfar leis go nglacann gach iontráil le rialacha an Féile.

15) Chun cur isteach ar an gcatagóir ‘Is Fearr i gCorcaigh’, cuir ar an eolas sinn, dá mo rud é go raibh an scannán scríofa, taifeadadh, nó curtha le chéile i gContae Chorcaí. Ní mheasfar ach iontrálacha a fhaightear sa chatagóir seo mar iontráil ó Chorcaigh.

16) Caithfidh iontrálaithe atá ag cur isteach ar chatagóir Irish Student of Film & Media Studies cóip dá n-aitheantas mic léinn a uaslódáil chun cáiliú, chomh maith le cruthúnas go bhfuil siad cláraithe i gCúrsa Staidéar Meán agus Scannán. Tá an comórtas oscailte do Dhaltaí Éireannacha AMHÁIN.

17) Déanfaidh an FFF teagmháil leat (fsfftechnical@gmail.com) má bhíonn aon fhadhb leis an scannán. Tar éis dúinn a íoslódáil, seolfar do scannán ar friothálaí na féile.

18) Ná seol DVDanna nó cóipeanna de do scannán díreach chugainn muna n-iarrtar ort é sin a dhéanamh. Ní ghlacfar le d’ iarratas muna bhfuil do scannán uaslódálta chuig FilmFreeway.

19) Déanfaidh an FFF iarracht aon ábhar teicniúil a bhaineann le do iarratas a réiteach. Le haghaidh tuilleadh eolais agus ceisteanna déan teagmháil le fsfftechnical@gmail.com. Ná bain úsáid as an ríomhphost seo ach amháin nuair atá na gnéithe teicniúla a bhaineann le d’iarratas á bhfiosrú agat.

20) Nuair a bheidh do Scannán, Grianghraf (anna), Táille agus Foirm faighte againn, gheobhaidh tú ríomhphost ag deimhniú go bhfuil d’ iontráil “ I gComaoin “. Tabhair faoi deara le do thoil, muna bhfaighimid GACH mír Nach bhfuil do iontráil deimhnithe.

21) Ba cheart gach ceist neamhtheicniúil a bhaineann le d'iarratas a sheoladh chuig submissions@fastnetfilmfestival.com, ba chóir gach ceist theicniúil a sheoladh chuig fsfftechnical@gmail.com.

22) Is eagraíocht neamhbhrabúis é Féile Scannán Gearr Fastnet agus táimid ag brath ar mhaoiniú cúnaimh deontais chun airgead duaise a chlúdach. Mar gheall ar tráthúlacht na n-íocaíochtaí deontais, ní féidir duaiseanna a íoc amach go dtí go bhfaightear ár ndeontais. De ghnáth tarlaíonn sé seo faoi mhí Mheán Fómhair i ndiaidh na féile. Rachfar i dteagmháil ansin le buaiteoirí na nduaiseanna le haghaidh sonraí cuntais bhainc agus beidh an t-airgead aistrithe chomh luath agus is féidir ina dhiaidh sin.

23) Tabhair faoi deara nach nglacaimid ach amháin le gearrscannáin chomhlánaithe agus NACH nglacaimid le scripteanna.

24) Gach Iontráil Éireannach AMHÁIN: I gcomhar le Cultúr RTÉ, tá áthas orainn na scannáin gairid is fearr do 2021 a shárthaispeáint, agus iad a chuir ar an gCainéal do scannáin gairid, bunaithe i gcomhar le RTÉ Player. Beidh sé seo mar onóir leanúnach a bheidh á thairiscint do gach scannáin ar an ngearrliosta Éireannach amach anseo.

25). Tabhair faoi deara, má roghnaítear agus má chuirtear ar scaileán do scannán, go dtagann scannánóirí dá stuaim féin. Ní bheidh Féile Scannán Fastnet faoi dhliteanas íoc as costais taistil ná lóistín má dhéanann scannánóirí freastal air. Ina theannta sin, mar gheall ar líon na dtaispeántas, níl gá do stiúrthóirí a gcuid scannán a chur i látháir ná páirt a ghlacadh i gceisteanna agus freagraí, mura n-iarrtar orthu é sin a dhéanamh.
