MUTOSCOPIO es un festival que fomenta y exhibe videoarte contemporáneo generando encuentros discursivos entre artistas emergentes y artistas con trayectoria.
El festival nace en Puebla, Pue. México en el año 2014 con una primera proyección en dicho estado.
Toma su nombre del dispositivo cinematográfico primitivo patentado por Herman Casla en 1894, en el cual la proyección se hacía para una sola persona; el cliente podía controlar la velocidad y la dirección de avance de la proyección.
Tomamos este dispositivo como concepto por su necesidad mecánica de un interlocutor para funcionar, así como la corta duración de la imagen en movimiento.
El objetivo de Mutoscopio es fomentar el videoarte a nivel nacional e internacional a través de la proyección de piezas audiovisuales contemporáneas mediante un festival itinerante que abarca una muestra, charlas, talleres y videoinstalaciones.

MUTOSCOPIO is a festival that promotes and exhibits contemporary video art generating discursive encounters between emerging artists and artists with a trajectory.
The festival is born in Puebla, Pue. Mexico in 2014 with a first screening in that state.
It takes its name from the primitive cinematographic device patented by Herman Casla in 1894, in which the projection was made for a single person; The customer could control the speed and direction of advance of the projection.
We take this device as a concept because of its mechanical need for an interlocutor to function, as well as the short duration of the moving image.
The goal of Mutoscopio is to promote video art nationally and internationally through the projection of contemporary audiovisual pieces through a traveling festival that includes a show, talks, workshops and video installations.

Las proyecciones se llevarán a cabo en Puebla y otros estados de la república mexicana así como en otros países con previa autorización de los artistas seleccionados.
