About the festival

"FETIFEST HAMBURG: Japan’s Underground Film Festival" is Japan's largest and best known sub-genre film festival. The aim of FETIFEST is to showcase extreme never-before-seen independent films from around the world. We gladly welcome all talented filmmakers; anyone who is trying to push the limits of art!

The event is lead by Sade Sato, known for his disturbing film, "MAI-CHAN's Daily Life.” Under his direction, FETIFEST has developed a huge following in Japan with fans of dark underground art and film. Last year FETIFEST expanded beyond Japan with a successful festival in Taiwan. This year we are bringing FETIFEST to Hamburg, Germany! We're thrilled to announce the premier of Takashi Hirose’s "BRUTAL ," at FETIFEST HAMBURG. Takashi is available for interviews. Contact us for more information.
