GENERAL SHOWCASE RULES
To be eligible at least one of the following key creative roles must have been filled by a woman: Writer, Producer, Director, Cinematographer, Animator or Editor.
To be considered as an emerging female filmmaker you or the women on your team cannot have won any awards at any Oscar-qualifying film festivals.
The film must have largely made in one of the following states:
Connecticut
Deleware
Florida
Georgia
Maine
Maryland
Massachusetts
New Hampshire
New Jersey
New York
North Carolina
Ohio
Pennsylvania
Rhode Island
South Carolina
Vermont
Virgina
West Virgina
The film must have been created after January 1st, 2017 to qualify for the 2019 Showcase.
The film must be no less than 1 minute in length and no greater than 15 minutes in length. Exceptions will be considered on a case by case basis.
Works in Progress ARE NOT CONSIDERED. Please submit films in their final, complete state.
All entries must be submitted as an online screener (Vimeo link accepted) No physical copies accepted. Entries must provide a download link immediately upon acceptance. Failure to do so may lead to the entry being removed from the showcase.
All entries must either be in the English language or be subtitled in the English language.
Film presentations are scheduled at the discretion of the Film & Her Showcase and are subject to change
No refunds are given once entries are submitted.
EXHIBITION
Regardless of original format, all competition films screen on DCP or .mov for festival presentation. Blu-ray is considered on a case by case basis. DCPs with subtitles must have the subtitles embedded in the film file.
ALL FILMMAKERS will be notified on or around February 18. This is subject to change.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
By submitting any work to Film & Her, you hereby grant all necessary rights to pre-screen, exhibit and promote said work at the 2019 Film & Her: A Female Filmmaker Showcase. You assert that said exhibition does not violate or infringe upon any rights, including copyright, trademark, musical, contractual or any other intellectual property rights of any other person or entity. You agree that you are authorized to submit said work(s) for consideration, and, if selected for competition, will adhere to the requirements for attendance and print exhibition as laid out by the showcase by the appropriate deadlines.
Additionally, you indemnify the Film& Her from any and all claims, demands, losses, costs, damages, and attorney's fee arising out of or in connection with third parties in regards to the screening of said film.
I, the undersigned, have read and understand the rules, regulations, and guidelines of the Film & Her: A Female Filmmaker Showcase. To the best of my knowledge, all information is correct as indicated in my online entry form. I agree to and consent to the terms of participation as laid out by the Film & Her.
