About the festival

The Five Minutes of Fame Film Festival is a Film Festival held in Richmond Virginia.
In it's second season, we are looking for films of all genera and all backgrounds.

This film festival will have a live screening and the official selection will also be shown on our Roku Channel.
*Due to Covid, we may have to switch to Online only. Details Sept 21 2020

A trophy will be awarded for the winner in each category.
It will be the responsibility of the contestant to cover mailing costs for any trophy that is not picked up at the award show.

The full show will air on the Roku to include all "official selected films".

You must prepare artwork in 3 sizes:
Portrait 110x140 pixels 210x300 pixels
and a landscape image 320x180

Only the best films will be in our "Official Selection". Everyone may not be selected for the official selection.

The official selection will be shown on the Roku, and the winners, and top five in each category will be screened at the live event party.

Trophy to the first place winners in each category.
Winners will be announced October 3rd 2020 on our facebook page.

Each category will have 1 winner. Our Panel will pick the best film from each category.
That winner will receive a trophy.

Due to Covid, and moving online and on Roku, there will not be an audience choice award this year.

The official selection will be shown on the Roku to a world audience.
The link to Roku show will be placed in a few days.

There will be a Best of show award.

Five Minutes of Fame.

Other sponsor prizes will be available as well.
Each entry can have the chance to win a trophy in their category as well as the "Best of Show" Award trophy.

All films MUST be in English.
Music category must be less than 5 minutes
Podcast less than 5 minutes.
Infomercial less than 5 minutes

Short Doc less than 30 minutes
Short Drama less than 30 minutes
Short Webisode 1 episodes 10 minutes in length or less

Short Animation less than 10 minutes
Short Experimental less than 10 minutes
Short Fashion less than 20 minutes
Short Comedy less than 20 minutes
Short Student less than 12 minutes, applicant must be under 18 at time of submission
Short Pilot less than 30 minutes.

All artwork in these sizes must be submitted,
or your display icons will be chosen for you.

You must prepare artwork in 3 sizes:
Portrait 110x140 pixels 214x306 pixels
and a landscape image 320x180

A short trailer should also be submitted. (Less than 2 minutes for any item longer than 2 minutes)

* All submission(s) will grant "FIVE MINUTES OF FAME" the non-exclusive rights to show your video at the live screening AND on it's ROKU Channel, or other promotional venues.

All rights will remain the rights of the respective parties.
Any images and artwork not provided as stated above will be substituted with like images from the provided material submission.

An entry to the event will indicate that all clearances and releases have been made with the copyright holders of any material in question. It will be the responsibility of the contest entry to maintain the proper releases for said entry into this film festival.

Five Minutes of Fame will not be held responsible for any release for copyright material that was not properly obtained. It will be the responsibility of the contestant to maintain these releases.
