The Freeride Filmfestival is a selection of the latest freeride movies including freeride skiing and/or snowboarding produced by independent filmmakers. We want to present the wide range of movies that is being produced in this passionate outdoor sports covering all different types of genres like adventure, expedition, portrait, comedy, fiction and art. Our aim is to constantly help to support filmmakers and athletes by attracting attention for their projects and to be the platform where self-minded people can gather and get inspired for winter.
In 2020 we will step up from 12 to 30 screenings, touring through 30 theaters and venues in Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. We are the largest Festival of it´s kind worldwide and reach an audience of up to 10,000 spectators. Due to Covid-19 we might have to be innovative for the 11th edition 2020 and are already looking for alternative ways to reach as many spectators as possible. But until further notice we will stick to our plan.
2020 is the first year Freeride Filmfestival accepts entries exclusively on FilmFreeway, the world's #1 way to enter film festivals and creative contests. This will help us to have a more professional, a easier and smoother submission process. Thank you for your understanding.
