About the festival

Frightarama, is an annual all-night horror movie marathon that takes place at Leicester’s Phoenix Cinema. Now entering into seventh year, Frightarama is dedicated to showcasing the very best in classic, contemporary and world horror cinema.

The event is continually looking to increase involvement with filmmakers and so Frightarama are delighted to be running the Frightarama Horror Shorts programme again this year. Curated by prestigious short film festival The Short Cinema, the Frightarama Horror Shorts programme is a great way for filmmakers to get their work screened to a packed auditorium of eager and appreciative horror fans.

Ever growing in prominence, previous screenings of the Frightarama Horror Shorts have included pieces of dark and twisted animation, gore-tastic schlock horror from teenage filmmakers and a screening of David F. Sandberg’s Lights Out, which has now been made into a feature through New Line Cinema.
