About the festival

The festival, the first of its kind to reside in Greensboro, North Carolina, is in its sixth year and features dance films from around the world in both student and professional categories. This year the festival is particularly interested in films that address themes that explore notions of race, place and identity created through the prism of film. We are also interested in artists of color who work both in front and behind the the camera as this year's festival will culminate with a celebration during Black History Month. Artists in all disciplines of screen dance are encouraged to apply. This year the festival will be presented in multiple venues over the course of two weeks and which include a live opening performance and party and a collaboration with the Greensboro Performance Space. All events presented against the backdrop of historic downtown Greensboro and the newly renovated UNCG Dance campus.

Filmmakers receive festival laurels in specific categories but no cash prized at this time.
