About the festival

Hollywood Silver Screen Festival is an IMDb-qualified annual festival with live film screenings, guest and speaker panels, small group breakout sessions and networking parties in Los Angeles, CA. The award ceremony features art, fashion, a beauty pageant, music, and dance showcases. Check out our program at http://hollywoodsilverscreen.com. Check out our updates and photos on our Facebook page at http://facebook.com/hollywoodsilverscreen.

Our mission is to recognize worthy filmmakers and to provide a platform for an appreciative and informed discussion of their work.

Our goal is to build a community and have a festival where people are there to be a part of the community. We do not encourage filmmakers who only turn up if their films are screened. As a result, we choose not to notify our official selections until after the festival and we do not ever provide a list of which films are screened. We do realize that this is unusual but we believe in what we do and as a result, over the years, we now have a supportive community who turn up and fill the theater, whether their films are screened or not. Among our patrons are many Oscar and Emmy winners, studio executives and industry VIPs. We are honored to have screened films that go on winning Oscars and other reputable awards. Many of our participants reported having gained valuable connections, jobs and important career opportunities from the festival. Again, we believe in building the community.

In Oct, our Hollywood Silver Screen Festival 2019 will be at the historic Warner Grand Theater in Los Angeles. This beautiful 1400-seat art deco theater was the only one of the 3 original Warner Brothers theaters left. This historic landmark is now equipped with the state of the art digital film projection, lighting, and audio technology. The Warner Grand Theatre is a facility of the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. Join us at this magnificent venue for a celebration of film, art and music.

We screen films from all over the world and honor emerging filmmakers from every age, religious, ethnic and cultural perspective. Not all OFFICIAL SECTION films will be screened, but all official selection films are in the running for awards.

This Festival attempts to cultivate spaces for independent filmmakers to create and display their stories without commercial pressure, in order to discover and celebrate extraordinary films and develop independent filmmaking. We strive to set a standard for excellence in recognizing the important work of emerging talent and masters of the cinema craft.
