About the festival

The HKIYFF, which aims to “Empower Youth, Enlighting Future”, is committed to helping, supporting, exploring and promoting young people with potential, talent and dreams. It provides opportunities for young filmmakers and to provide a platform for their efforts and talents.
The 2nd International Youth Film Festival (HKIYFF) will be held in Hongkong, China in August 2020. The film festival will include the following programmes: Shorts Screening, Excellent Film Screening, Youth Film Forum, Red Carpet Show, Starlight Performance Show, Film Project Promotion supported by Hongkong Youth Film Foundation, Awarding Ceremony, and Night of Hongkong Film.
The Film Festival is organized by the Hongkong International Youth Film Festival Association (HKIYFFA). The Association was registered and approved by the Hongkong Special Administrative Region Government in 2018. The Hongkong Youth Film Foundation (HKYFF) was launched in September 2019 by HKIYFFA. The Association aims to provide a platform for international exchange, learning, cooperation and expression for young film talents, and to promote the worldwide artistic creation and development of young film talents. Outstanding film personalities, industrial specialists and organizations around the world are most welcome to join for the development of international youth film industry.

Award settings include Film Awards and Individual Awards. Professionals in front and behind the scenes are equally concerned. It covers all Type Films and Participants from different divisions, such as Directors, Producers, Screenwriters, actors, Photographers, Editors, Special effects, Art Directors, Music Directors, Cloth Designers, Make-up, Lighting Engineers, prop-Artists and Casting Directors, etc.

Terms and rules

Qualifications

1）The works submitted shall be finished during June 30th, 2018 to June 30th, 2020.

2）Works which participated in the first film festival is not eligible for re-submission, except for film screening and shorts screening unit.

3）The submissions shall be with double language subtitles of Chinese and English.

4）The applicant of works shall own the whole copyright of it or get the permit license from the copyright holder. The organizer shall be exempted from liability for any legal disputes or economic losses arising from the copyright, trademark rights and any other intellectual property rights of the works from the applicant. The applicant ensures that the submission of works shall meet the requirements of the laws and regulations of the Country/Region in which it is located. The Organizer shall be exempted from liability for any legal disputes or economic losses arising from that the applicant violates the laws and regulations of the Country/Region in which it is located.

5）Complete films, promotional videos, stills, posters, information of the filmmakers and submission forms with signatures or seals shall be submitted under the request of the organizer. The applicant agrees and authorizes the Organizing Committee of the festival to use the propaganda materials for free for the promotion of the festival and the film, not for other commercial purposes.
Note: Registration, submission or participation in the film festival is deemed to accept all the above terms, contents and other processes and arrangements, which is subject to the final revision (if any). The Hongkong International Youth Film Festival Association and Organizing Committee hold the right of final interpretation and final decision on all matters.
