About the festival

Hothouse Theatre's Nottz Film Festival is the festival where the audience decides the best films.

As ever, there will 8 categories to enter:
Advert or Trailer, Animated Film, Artistic Film, Factual Film, Fictional Film, Foreign Language Film, Young Person's live action film , Young Person’s Animated Film
The festival is open to all.

The judges will select 3 films from each category to go through to the final.

This year's final will be hosted as part of several local arts festivals with the audience from each arts festival being asked to vote for their favourite films shown.

All the finalist will receive a certificate and a laurel which they can use to promote their film.
The films voted Best Film in their category will also receive an engraved trophy which they can keep.
There will also be a Judges award for the Best overall film shown in the final.

Terms and rules

All the films need to be no more than 10 mins in length.

The films must be consistent with the British board of Film Classification PG certificate. https://www.bbfc.co.uk/what-classification/pg

Each film can only be entered into 1 category.

Each film should be entered by the person who owns the copyright to the film.

The judges will select 3 films from each to be shown in the final. The final will consist of several showings at different local arts festivals.

The judges decision is final.

The audiences at the public showings will vote for their favourite films.

The audiences vote will be final.
