About the festival

IAFF is Focused on appreciating the efforts of Filmmakers and good films by rewarding them with Funds to make more and better films.
These are the four cardinal points of our Festival;
i. Basic and Advanced DSLR Film-making for a Selected participants; this will be in conjunction with Canon.
ii. For every winner in each of the categories, there's a cash reward attached to the trophies, this is to enable filmmakers make more compelling films.
iii. Our third goal is our corporate social responsibility. In this we, are reaching out to the less privileged, orphanage homes and people with disability to support them with materials and finances.
iv. We are also closing the gap between African makers and the rest of the world. In this we will ensure good films from Africa reach-out to the entire globe.

All filmmakers who submitted their films stand a chance of winning many of our numerous gifts items. IAFF gives selected films a customized laurel and certificate of participation. Category winners are given trophies.
As a filmmaker we know a lot's of money have gone into the making process we have therefore decided that every category winner will have a cash reward in the following order.

Terms and rules

RULES
Rules & Terms
The categories for submission are (A) Feature films, (B) Short films and student shorts, (C) Documentary films (D) Animation films (E) Experimental films (F) Poetry

Selection Committee
IAFF will solely appoint a selection committee to review submitted features, documentaries, animations and short films. The committee will decide on the official selection to enter the categories in competition.
IAFF will solely appoint a jury including members of the international film community to decide on winners for each of the four categories in competition.

Deadlines
Entries must be submitted before September, 30 2020. Any submission and/or material received after the deadline will not be accepted.
Submission of Works in Progress
It is NOT acceptable to submit a working copy of a film. ‘Work-in-progress’ entries are not allowed. IAFF only accepts the final version of films.
Storage of Submissions
IAFF retains the right to keep all submissions as well as associated materials for its use. IAFF reserves the right to transfer submissions to a master hard drive digital library, building a digital reference archive (“IAFF Permanent Digital Library”). IAFF will not theatrically screen for commercial purposes any films without the express written consent of the appropriate rights holder(s).

The Selection Committee will at its own discretion select nominees for each category.
ONLY the selected films will official selection notification emails be sent to by July annually. IAFF will also advise you of further requirements and next steps in said correspondence.
If a film has NOT been selected, the announcement of the final selection will serve as notice. For the avoidance of doubt, IAFF shall not comment on the grounds of not selecting a film.
Additional terms
For the avoidance of doubt, once a film is selected, the submitter will not be able to withdraw the entry.
6. ACKNOWLEDGMENT AND UNDERTAKING
Submission and participation in IAFF implies acceptance of the Regulations.
The submitter hereby represents and warrants that he/she holds all rights in and to the film and Material and that he/she has the authority and capacity to submit the film and Material for IAFF.
The submitter acknowledges that IAFF shall not be held liable or responsible in any manner whatsoever for any loss or damage of whatever type or nature incurred as a result of the submission, acceptance and/or screening of the film and/or Material. Furthermore, the submitter undertakes to indemnify and keep IAFF indemnified against all liabilities, claims, demands, actions, costs, damages or loss arising out of the submission, acceptance and/or screening of the film and/or Material.
The submitter also understands and acknowledges that the IAFF Submission Information (Form) and the present Regulations form a consolidated and unified document and that therefore the IAFF Submission Form shall be considered as incorporated herein by reference.

Censorship
No editorial cuts or changes to any film will be made at any time by IAFF, for any reason or under any circumstances.
Anti-Piracy Precautions
IAFF undertakes to take all possible anti-piracy precautions. All prints and associated copyrighted materials will be securely stored while on IAFF premises. Access is limited to IAFF’s nominated staff only and all movement of prints will be strictly monitored. No duplication or loaning is permitted and no prints will ever leave the custody and care of IAFF or its authorized agents during IAFF
Festival Management’s Discretion
IAFF will decide in its discretion on all issues and matters not foreseen by these Regulations. IAFF further retains the right to permit exceptions to the application of these Regulations at any time in its discretion.
