About the festival

The International Filmmaker Festival of New York is a global industry event held annually in the world’s most iconic center of arts, New York City. Each year, the IFFNY festival brings to New York world premieres of films from around the globe, and gives the American audience unique opportunities to discover international cinema.

IFFNY began in 2012 as AFW (Albanian Film Week) and has grown each year, becoming one of the most respected festivals in New York for its commitment to advancing the film culture. Its popularity and success is due to the hard work and enthusiasm of the festival organizer Mrika Krasniqi, who is passionate about the arts.

The mission of IFFNY Festival is to promote and aid the development of the international cinema and film authors. Our goal is to act as the main meeting point where international cinema converges in a spirit of cooperation and cultural exchange through the presentation of the finest and most recent achievements in world cinema.
Each year IFFNY presents Red Carpet screenings of feature, short and documentary films, followed by Q&A, workshops, reception with artists and organizers, VIP afterparty and Award Night Gala.

The International Filmmaker Festival of New York is one of the leading platforms of international cinema, dedicated to artists who embody diversity, innovation and creativity.

This Edition will award 10 (ten) prizes for the best participatory works:

Terms and rules

Rules and Regulations:

*All filmmakers from around the world who have produced feature films, short films and documentary films in the last 5 years are entitled to apply in the International Filmmaker Festival of New York.

*Festival has Competition Program and Promotional Program.

*All projects should be in English Subtitles.

* Feature films must be more than 60 minutes.

*Short films must not exceed 30 minutes.

*Not acceptable projects are:
Projects that have been presented in Television or Internet,
Projects those are older than 5 years,
Projects without English subtitles,
Projects with technique problems,

*When the film has been selected and the invitation to be part of our festival is accepted, film can not withdrawn from the Festival Program.

*The Festival can use your material for promotional purposes and in order to compile the Festival Catalog. The Festival bares no responsibility for published originating in submitted materials.

*By accepting to be part of our Festival, participants grant permission to be included in the festival video trailer or in other arrangements that have been made with the Festival.

* The Festival will award 10 (ten) prizes
Best Feature Film, Best Short Film, Best feature Documentary Film, Best short Documentary Film , Best Actor Award, Best Actress Award, Best Screenplay Award, Best Animation, Best Music video and Best cinematography Award.

*The award for the: best feature, best short and best documentary goes to director.

* Application fee should be at the same time with your submission, and it is not refundable.

* The festival will cover cinema costs in which the film will be presented. Also, the filmmaker’s participants will have free access to all festival activities. All other personal expenses during the festival should be covered by the participant.
