Virtual Film Festival June 25 - 27, 2021

Kids Video Connection (KVC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) educational media arts organization that specializes in teaching youth video production, media literacy and communication skills. Our mission is to use video production as a teaching tool to educate and empower today's youth with media literacy, communication and critical thinking skills that will help them become independent thinkers and creators for tomorrow. KVC Children's Film Festival promotes positive, educational, and entertaining children and family-oriented programs. Our upcoming festival will be June 3 - 19, 2021, and by poplar demand we will host the virtual film festival June 25 - 27, 2021. This festival is sponsored in-part by DeKalb Entertainment Commission and Emory University Department of Film and Media Studies.

This educational and fun film festival is two weeks of eye-opening and exciting activities which include film screenings, media literacy and video production workshops for children, teens and independent producers. Kids Video Connection Children's Film Festival kids-off on June 3, 2021 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.; location to be announced. By popular demand we will bring back the awesome teacher; Fran Burst-Terranella, Emmy-award winning writer/director; she will teach script writing. Also, students will learn about recording equipment and camera angles while they work together to shoot a short film scene. In addition, there will be a screening of short independent films featured in this year's festival.

On June 26, 2021, we will host our Film Festival Family Day; location to be announced. As in the past, we will have several workshops for youth from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Also, we will showcase films from 1:30 - 4:30 p.m. for the entire family. Check on KVC's website for more details.

Since we started the festival, it has been a great success! Through this annual summer festival, we have reached over 5,000 youth. Our audience consists of children of diverse ethnic groups. We are reaching and teaching more children each year. In 2008, KVC was awarded DeKalb County Arts Visionary Award for starting the festival and creating innovative art programs to teach children.

KVC will partner with iPitch.tv to help connect independent children producers to Studio Executive and Hollywood Producers to pitch their creative work. To find out more go to iPitch.tv Also, independent producers (adults only) will get the following prizes:
