About the festival

The third annual Made in Arkansas Film Festival is devoted to showcasing films made in The Natural State.

By filmmakers for filmmakers, Made in Arkansas is dedicated to cultivating and promoting the art of filmmaking. Filmmakers from all corners of the state have their films screened at the beautiful state-of-the-art CALS Ron Robinson Theater.

During our second year, we had to play it safe and take our festival virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic and we are excited to say it was a major success! For our third year, we plan on returning to the Ron Robinson Theater in Little Rock for our screenings.

Once again, we'll be accepting films from our neighboring states. Please look closely at the submission option for regional films. If you have a connection to Arkansas, please look at the Arkansas connection option as well.

We're looking for a wide variety of films and will be accepting short and feature-length films. We welcome submissions of animation, documentaries, comedies, dramas, music videos, experimental films, and everything in between - whatever you're making, we want to see it! Our WTF Block has been the hit of the festival! If you have something experimental, schlocky, and genre-bending on a B-Film level, we want to see it!

This year, we'll be supporting micro-shorts and we will be giving out an award for Best Micro-Short Film. To qualify, it must be between 1-5 min in length. We'll also be recognizing Direction, a performance by an actor and actress, cinematography, and screenplay.

We can’t wait to see what you’ve been working on, and we hope to see you at this year’s festival.

Please read the "Rules & Terms" listed below before submitting them. Thank you!
