About the festival

The festival is non for profit and it aims to bring about interesting and thoughtful topics to the community as well as a bit of humor.

We run local workshops with children and a cultural exchange with Brazilian children.

UK film schools will also be a part of the festival.

This is our first Make It Short. The festival will run for two days and it in we will have an assorted selection of different topics from all over the world, as well as shorts from local children and an exchange with Brazilian children.

The festival will happen in Lewes, which is in the South East of England.

Lewes is well known for its political sway, we have many intellectuals living here, as well as journalists, artists, film makers, etc..

You might know Lewes because Tom Paine lived here and it's also where the Battle of Lewes happened.

Terms and rules

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Films must have been completed in 2016 or 2017.

Films must be no more than 20 minutes in length – including credits. And for animations 10 minutes long maximum.

If selected, films must be available for projection in DCP.

All non-English language films must have English language subtitles. And for animation for children they must be dubbed.

Submissions must be uploaded and submitted no later than the deadline date to qualify for the respective entry fees.

For Student entries, a copy of an official student ID or a letter from the school must be sent with the entry submission as proof of student status when the film was made.

If selected, a press kit must be provided. Digital press kits are required. -At least two (2) publicity stills from the film. Stills must be submitted by email (jpg, 300 dpi preferred, clearly labeled with film title--if multiple photos are sent, please label with film title & 1 of 2, 2 of 2, etc) to hello@makeitshort.co.uk

-Film synopsis – 50 words.
-30 second Trailer (if available)
