The queer festival accepts films of up to 20 minutes, focused on the issues of gender, sexuality, identity, feminism, LGBT and queer; year of the film does not matter. One participant may submit an unlimited number of films. Applicants must ensure copyright protection to the submitted works. In turn, the organizers of the festival ensure copyright protection in respect of films presented at the festival.
Organizers of the festival are not entitled without notice of authors and copyright holders to use the received materials in their entirety. By submitting an application, you consent to the storage of movies in the internal archive of MAKEOUT and the non-commercial use of film fragments and individual frames for publicity purposes, as well as in publications (catalog, accompanying texts).
The work must be accompanied by a separate .SRT subtitle file in one of the working languages of the festival. The working languages of the festival are English, Belarusian, and Russian. All films will be shown in their original language with Belarusian subtitles.
Selection and screening
All submitted films will be shown in preliminary screenings, both closed and public. Films for the festival program will be selected by audience vote conducted (volunteers, members of MAKEOUT Film Club) and by the organizers of the festival.
Thematic units of the festival will be formed according to the issues addressed in the works.
Participation in the festival does not entail material compensation and registration fees. Unfortunately, we do not provide any financial support for the applicants.
We oppose the hierarchy, recognizing the equal importance and significance of all movies, and we will be grateful to all the applicants who are willing to submit their works.
Deadline
Submission is open from February 2, 2015. Submission deadline is April 30, 2015.
Admission of works thereafter is carried out only by agreement with the organizers of the festival. To submit a work, fill in an online application form here.
