About the festival

The Midwest Monster Film Fest is the first horror film festival in the Quad Cities area, which consists of Moline & Rock Island of Illinois, and Davenport & Bettendorf of Iowa, along the mighty Mississippi River. It is open to the public, and local patrons are encouraged to come!

It is our goal to provide a showcase for indie filmmakers who will have the opportunity to have their work seen and appreciated by fellow horror lovers, scored by a panel of judges where the top films win an award, as well as the chance to network with others in the field.

The film festival takes place on Septmber 14th, 2019, during the first annual Midwest Monster Fest horror covention, held at The Spotlight Theatre and Event Center in Moline, IL. ***We will also be screening the overflow of official selections at the FREE Midwest Monster Fest pre-party on Friday September 13th at the Rozz Tox in Rock Island, IL, starting at 7pm.*** This 2 day event features celebrity guests and panel discussions, an fx competition, a cosplay contest, vendors galore, an awards ceremony for the winning filmmakers, and an after party to celebrate the fest. This year's guests include John Dugan & Terri McMinn from the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Wyatt Weed, Bobby Ray Shafer and more!

If you're film is selected, you will receive free admission. We would love for you to come speak about your film.
