About the festival

MIFEC is a film festival organized by Escola Superior Artística do Porto (ESAP), and aims to disseminate and award cinematographic productions of academic scope. The festival promotes the annual meeting of some of the most important film schools (national and international) through the exhibition and competition of films, workshops, masterclasses and debates between students and teachers of the various institutions involved.

Each session is preceded by a presentation of the respective films in competition. The jury is constituted by five elements from the most varied areas linked to the cinema (directors, critics, journalists, teachers, etc.)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Due to unfortunate circumstances regarding the global pandemic, and respecting the instructions given by the portuguese authorities, the festival organization decided to postpone the 17th edition of MIFEC to a new date yet to be confirmed.

Everyone stay safe, and we’ll be in touch with more information soon.
