About the festival

The Noosa International Film Festival enters its third year from Thursday 22 to Sunday 25 October 2020 over a festival weekend in the world-renowned destination of Noosa.

The Noosa International Film Festival is on its way to becoming one of Australia’s leading destination film festivals by screening new Australian and international feature length films, high quality short films, and staging inspirational Inside Cinema workshops and talks with industry special guests.

The festival encourages filmmakers from all countries to enter the NIFF Short Film Competition.

From the entertaining to the educational, inspirational to thought-provoking, comedic to ironic, NIFF will present cinematically amazing Australian and international short films.

The festival will consider any film in any genre.

So if you’re a filmmaker that creates short films - whether they’re drama, comedy, animated, documentary (e.g. observational, travel, humanitarian, environmental), or experimental (e.g. timelapse, hyperlapse and drone) - you're welcome to enter.

Although the festival prefers to screen newer films, all submissions will be considered. The Official Selections in the festival's short film competitions will be screened publicly, showcasing your films to the widest possible live audience.
