About the festival

Physicians for Social Responsibility seeks a short film to accompany talks on the threat of nuclear war. Physician activists have been using the 'bomb run' to describe what would happen if an atomic bomb was detonated in New York City. Film entries may use images, graphics, and written copy and must sync to an existing talk. The film is meant to heighten public engagement on the humanitarian impact of nuclear weapons.

A $500 cash prize for the most effective representation of the bomb run
A $100 cash prize for a runner up

Guidelines
NUKEBUSTERS seeks powerful films to illustrate what would happen in the event of a nuclear bomb being dropped on New York City. The bomb run is used to help the public understand the devastation wrought by the indiscriminate impact of these weapons and to strengthen the movement to eliminate them. We're seeking compelling images and a magnetic quality that inspire action. We're interested in originality and creativity that will speak to youth and the faith communities.

Entrants must be 18 years of age or older. Contest restricted to U.S. citizens, legal residents, or students legally residing in the U.S. for the duration of their film school programs.
