About the festival

The One Eye Film Festival in Dubbo, Australia was originally created as an opportunity for local filmmakers to screen their films. We'll be celebrating our 8th season in 2020, with categories for other Australian and international filmmakers to share their short films to give local audiences and filmmakers wider exposure to the form.

There are no prizes, there is no theme. We exist to promote filmmaking and film viewing around Dubbo and surrounding areas. We want to see as wide a range of films as possible, but we want all films to be shorter than 7 minutes for local films (4 minutes for secondary student category and 2 minutes for primary student category). Please note: the longer form category for local films is by invitation only and Other Australian and International category shorts can be up to 10 minutes.

Submit your film via FilmFreeway online screener. For all entry requirements and conditions, please view the below Rules and Terms for information including technical specifications sheet. To optimise the quality of your submitted film, make sure you view it on different devices (e.g., computer monitor, TV, etc) to identify and correct any quality problems with sound or picture. Please contact Dubbo Filmmakers if you'd like some advice. This article has some great tips to help improve quality:
