About the festival

Oska Bright Film Festival is the world’s leading festival for films made by or featuring people with learning disabilities, autism or aspergers.

We show bold, exciting and different work from voices you might not have heard before.
At the most recent festival in 2019 we screened 99 films from 17 different countries and welcomed 3,000 people through our doors. The appetite for this work gets stronger each year.

Over the festival we screen groundbreaking work, host Q&A sessions, presentations, keynotes and industry panels. The festival ends with an awards ceremony, with awards presented by leading lights from the industry.

Terms and rules

We only screen films that are made by, or feature people with a learning disability, autism or aspergers. Please do not enter if you do not identify with the criteria.

Submissions are open to short films from every genre including animation, documentary, drama, experimental, music or artist film.

Short films must be no longer than 25 minutes.

We also accept feature films.

Please submit a subtitled version, or provide a transcript. If you might have difficulty doing this, please get in touch.

We are particularly looking to include films by LGBTQ+, BAME, Women and Young People.

You must have permission in writing to use all the music in your film.
