PVIFF is hosted by Gipp. Museums, Inc. PVIFF attracts 3,000+ people each year from around the world. PVIFF was created in 2006 under the previous name (Sweet Auburn International Film Festival) and have served as the launching pad for many successful filmmakers and other artists alike in the film & entertainment industry. This dynamic international film festival showcases feature length films, shorts, music videos, documentaries, and screenplays from around the globe. PVIFF also feature celebrity attractions, innovative workshops, panels, parties, and much more. PVIFF is one of the most celebrated film events through dynamic programming and a dedication to helping filmmakers excel in their careers. PVIFF's brand is entrenched in the old saying "It Takes A Village."

Our vision allows us to create a village atmosphere that provide opportunities not only for filmmakers but for business owners and film enthusiasts. Artists such as Actor/Director, Mario Van Peebles, Actress, Ruby Dee, Director/Writer Rob Hardy of Rain Forest Films, Producer, Roger Bobb of Tyler Perry Studios, Director, Malcolm Lee, Casting Director, Alpha Tyler formerly of Tyler Perry Studios, Casting Director, Kim Hardin, Emmy Award Winning Producer, Dean Hargrove, Casting Director & Producer, Reuben Cannon formerly of Tyler Perry Studios, Best Selling Author Omar Tyree, Actor, Bill Nunn, Director, Kenny Leon, Humanitarian, Afeni Shakur and more have all participated in various aspects of PVIFF over the years. In 2006 during PVIFF's first year the winning short film "Binta & The Great Idea" was nominated for an Academy Award and numerous other projects have received phenomenal acclaim throughout the years as well. With increased exposure, the assistance from the film and business community PVIFF will continue to help ignite opportunities and make dreams to come true for decades to come.

Filmmakers & screenwriters will have an opportunity to win up to $50,000 (One Hundred Thousand Dollars) in Post-Production services Investment Prize at one of the top Post Production facilities in either the U.S. or abroad. Three winners will be chosen and will have access to complete their present or next film in one of three award winning facilities in New York, Los Angeles or London. This sponsorship is made possible through DCR Finance Corp’s involvement in cultivating cinematic Voice of the Future. DCR Finance Corp DCR, A Media Fund headed by NY Financier Adi Cohen and Legendary Producer Mark Damon.

Screenwriter winners will also have an opportunity to win an awesome prize package from Ink Tip to include:

• InkTip Script Listing: A listing of your script on InkTip so that producers and reps can find you.
• InkTip Magazine: Publication of your logline in InkTip's magazine sent to nearly 15000 producers and reps.
• InkTip helps writers sell their scripts and get representation. Producers have made more than 200 films from scripts and writers they found through InkTip.
Filmmakers will also have an opportunity to land a distribution deal with TV 4 Entertainment.

Film and screenplay winners will receive an InkTip Script Listing so they can promote themselves and their scripts to InkTip’s entire network of producers, managers, and agents. PVIFF is again partnering with JARO, an exciting film, media and art digital to launch our second annual short film competition.This year we are also including documentary shorts.Our partnership with JARO will provide filmmakers an opportunity to promote their works and have their films watched and voted on via an online audience. The top short films/docs will be chosen by an industry-select jury with representation from JARO, African American Film Critics Association (AAFCA) and PVIFF. The winners will receive a guaranteed slot at PVIFF. The top 3 winners of the Short Film/Short Docs Competition will receive special awards and cash prizes. Top rated films/docs that are selected will be automatically eligible to participate in JARO’s filmmaker marketing, promotion and monetization programs for time they are selected as finalists for the competition through 90 days post festival.

Terms and rules

Filmmakers must agree to let their films be shown at the discretion of the festival. This means that the filmmaker may not receive the opportunity for his/her film to be showcased. Top short films/short docs selected by our jury (including PVIFF, AAFCA and JARO participants),unless otherwise specified, will be shown on www.watchjaro.com and rated by JARO’s online audience as a part of PVIFF's review process for final film selections. All JARO Short film/Short Doc winners must agree to let their films be shown on the JARO platform for three months following the award announcement to accommodate post event promotional opportunities. All information regarding film showcases will be shared with the winners and prizes will be given to the winners that enter their correct contact information. We will attempt to contact the winning filmmaker twice following the festival regarding their award. If we do not receive a response from the filmmaker within 10 business days the award will be withheld.
