About the festival

PEFF 2020 - Festival Internacional de Cine Ambiental de la Patagonia (Patagonia Eco Film Fest), which will have its 5th edition from October 1st to October 5th, 2020, is a great resource for educating, inspiring and motivating audiences. We have created a space for reflection and discussion about the difficulties our Earth faces today.

The committee will select feature films and short films, all referring to environmental topics, both documentary and fiction, which will take part in the competitive and in the non-competitive section of the festival. A renowned jury will present an award to the most distinguished films.

This festival edition will include the following sections:

COMPETITIVE:
•Feature Film (International)
•Short Films (International)
•Patagonia In Focus (Short films from Patagonia - Argentina and Chile)

NON-COMPETITIVE:
•Nature and Wildlife Section
•Mini PEFF (short films for kids)

Registration for the festival is USD 2.- for international films. Just for Argentinian films is free, please write us to - info@patagoniaecofilmfest.com - for an Entry Fee Waiver. Please only submit films that are related to environmental topics. Those not related will be disqualified.

Terms and rules

--Please only submit films that are related to environmental topics. Those not related will be disqualified.--
-Films which have been completed after January 1st, 2018 will be able to participate in the competitive sections.
-All films submitted should include English subtitles, if the original language of the film is not English. Spanish subtitles, if Spanish is not the film's original language, should be available prior to the festival.
-We will accept different genres such as documentaries, fiction and animation.
-Those films that do not refer to environmental topics will be excluded from the festival.
-The decisions made by the jury will not be subject to appeal.
-The selection of the films will be announced in September 2020.
-The Official Competition Jury shall consist of a minimum of 3 professionals outside the Festival. No Jury may join those who have interests in the production and / or exploitation of the films presented in Competition. The Jury will also be able to give special mentions if deemed appropriate.

DELIVERY OF MATERIAL
Once the call is finished, the committee will get in touch with the selected films that will have to send by Wetransfer or Dropbox the following:

• Precise format of the film to be projected.
• Trailer of the film (In the case it has one).
• Three illustrative photos (300 dpi, jpg /tiff) to be used during the festival.
• Cast, crew and filmography of the director.

The material will be accepted before 15th September. After this date, participation in the festival cannot be guaranteed.

The registered films must be their final version; Work-in-Progress projects will not be accepted. In cases where Spanish is not the original language of the film, a Spanish-subtitled version will need to be available before the festival. If no Spanish-subtitles are planned, please get in touch with the committee of the festival. The subtitles must be included in the file; otherwise the film will not be selected.

AUTHOR'S RIGHTS
The person responsible for the registration of the work authorizes the Patagonia Eco Film Fest to screen the film during the festival, and allow the organization to use two minutes from the films as promotion for the festival in every way as they consider.

The person who signs the registration of the film must have the author`s rights or the corresponding authorization of it. This exempts the committee from any legal responsibility.

Taking part in PEFF 2019 implies agreement with the above terms and conditions.
