Louisiana filmmakers and college students can compete for cash prizes in the 2020 Pontchartrain Film Festival Call for Entry. This year the Pontchartrain Film Festival has moved its Best College Film Competition to combine with the Louisiana Made Short Film competition held each year on the first Saturday in November. This year's festival will be held Saturday, Nov. 7. College students can enter short films, 40 minutes or less, made in Louisiana or by Louisiana students attending out-of-state schools (please provide class you graduated in high school.) Louisiana filmmakers can enter short films, 40 minutes or less, made in Louisiana or by Louisiana residents. Short films will be eligible for the Louisiana Made Short Film and Best College Film competition with a $300 cash prize for a jury award for Best Louisiana Made Short Film.
The festival includes a Q&A with filmmakers in attendance. Winners will be announced following the Q&A.
A jury will select the winner of the cash award of $300 for the Best Louisiana Made Short Film. The public is invited to vote for the Audience Favorite Award.
