Rapport Festival: Black Film Festival

We’re looking for films that touch upon the hybrid nature of the black African Diaspora experience throughout the world. Particularly interested in submissions from African Diaspora filmmakers from the UK. Films submitted in this category must be under 30 minutes in length and may be of any genre. To qualify, a person of African Heritage must hold the role of AT LEAST ONE of the following: Producer, Director, Writer, Cinematographer, Editor, or Lead Actor.

Films submitted in this category must be under 30 minutes in length and may be of any genre. To qualify, a person of African Heritage must hold the role of AT LEAST ONE of the following: Producer, Director, Writer, Cinematographer, Editor, or Lead Actor.

Theme: Films that focus on the black female experience or perspective. To qualify, an African Diaspora woman must hold the role of AT LEAST ONE of the following: Producer, Director, Writer, Cinematographer, Editor, or Lead Actor.

International feature films from any genre. Films need to be at least 60 minutes long. To qualify, a person of African heritage must hold the role of AT LEAST ONE of the following: Producer, Director, Writer, Cinematographer, Editor, or Lead Actor.

Submissions to this category can come from anywhere in the world and be of any genre. To qualify, a person of African Heritage must hold the role of AT LEAST ONE of the following: Producer, Director, Writer, Cinematographer, Editor, or Animator. Films can be up to 120 minutes long and suitable for children and young people up to the age of twelve and their families.

All films must be focused on or inspired by music. We accept music video, narrative, documentary, experimental, and animated genres. Submissions to this category can come from anywhere in the world and be of any genre. To qualify, a person of African Heritage from the Diaspora must hold the role of AT LEAST ONE of the following: Producer, Director, Writer, Cinematographer, Editor, Animator or lead actor. Films can be up to 120 minutes long and should be focussed on an African Diaspora music genre (e.g. blues, jazz, funk, soul, garage, house, RnB, reggae, ragga, dance hall, calypso, soca, zouk, salsa, grime).
