About the festival

Welcome to Shibuya TANPEN Film Festival CLIMAX at Sasebo!

This film festival will be held in two cities, Shibuya, Tokyo and Sasebo, Nagasaki.

*We want to make Shibuya, Tokyo and Sasebo, Nagasaki a short film town.
*We aim to discover and nurture filmmakers and actors active in the world, and we also produce original short films every year.
* Two original short films produced("Ritsuko and Ken-chan","Virtual Youtuber") at the festival last year were selected as “Jury Selection” for “23rd: JAPAN MEDIA ARTS FESTIVAL (https://j-mediaarts.jp/en/award/entertainment/)”.

We are looking for films, web series, and music videos of any theme or genre and we love projects that celebrate the triumph of the human spirit.

5:Genre : All genres are accepted except erotic, grotesque, horror.
6:Language : English or Japanese subtitles are required for submissions with languages other than Japanese.
7:Selected works will be screened in Tokyo and Nagasaki. We may ask the copyright holder of the work to submit a video message.
8:Applicants should eliminate copyright and other issues.
