About the festival

Sicily Independent Film Awards is an IMDb verified international monthly competition and an annual festival based in Sicily, Italy.

Our first year was a very successful year and we screened films for many indie filmmakers and then we decided to have a monthly competition and an annual festival together. All the monthly award winners are nominated for our second annual event as well.

Sicily has a rich and unique culture, especially with regard to the arts, cinema, music, literature, cuisine, and architecture. It is also home to important archaeological and ancient sites, such as the Necropolis of Pantalica, the Valley of the Temples, Erice and Selinunte.

Sicily Independent Film Awards seeks to recognize shorts and features from international filmmakers.

Our monthly festival is an online competition. We will also promote films and support them with recognition every month.

Our annual festival screens international and Italian films in Sicily for one week.

We believe in the power of cinema, independent filmmaking and arts.

The films must include English or Italian subtitles.
