COVID 19 UPDATED SCHEDULE
DUE TO COVID-19 THERE WILL BE A SLIGHT CHANGE TO OUR 2nd ANNUAL 2021 FESTIVAL.
First off we want to say thank you for your submissions. It really means a lot to us that you have reached out to be a part of the magic that we have created at Skiptown Playhouse for Filmmakers. Last year we had an amazing turnout with so many talented people in attendance. Here is where we stand.
We were really looking forward to this years festival and to be able to run it as normal. However being that conditions have not improved in America, we have to take into extreme consideration not only the compliance orders of the state of California and city of Los Angeles, but more importantly the safety of our patrons and filmmakers from all over the world.
After careful deliberation, we have decided against an online festival as it defeats the purpose of what we created when building our festival. The connection between the independent film community and ability to network and make long lasting relationships is really at the core of what we want to continue. WE WANT TO DO THIS THE RIGHT WAY.
We have put together a schedule that we feel is good for accomplishing our goal and maintaining our experience. We know this sets some things behind, but given the circumstances we are doing our best.

We are sponsored by Princ Films, an International Distribution Representative, which makes our festival a great (one of the best) opportunities for independent film makers to have their work seen and optioned for international distribution representation at all of the major film markets around the world.
Skiptown Playhouse International Film Festival is a new festival that specializes in low (under 5 million budget) independent films with great potential for the world wide market. It is a great outlet for filmmakers from all over the world to showcase their work and be seen by distributors, producers, and other industry professionals working in Hollywood. And what better place to be located, than Hollywood itself!
The festival is run by the owner of Skiptown Productions, Vincenzo Carubia who also works in acquisitions for Princ Films. This festival is a great opportunity for filmmakers to have their work seen and showcased to industry professionals who have the potential to distribute their work at the major film markets around the world aka international sales distribution.
This intimate theater is known for it's comfy chairs, red curtains, and warm ambiance that is created by the owners Vincenzo, Anny, and Michelle. Opening in February of 2018, the theater quickly grew a following in the comedy community in Hollywood and started growing a following for its film screenings as well through Blackout Cinema (a local film group).
Now Skiptown decided to grow its adventure by creating a week long film festival event with opening / closing night parties, as well as red carpet photos, guest speakers, panels, and a carefully selected variety of shorts / features, and more.
