For ten years, Lift-Off Global Network has been celebrating and nurturing true emerging talent from around the world.

We discover true talent and provide filmmakers with the resources they need to excel within the industry. In 2017, THE SILENT CHILD, the directorial debut of Chris Overton, was first selected for the First-Time Filmmakers Showcase. Following their success at the event, Chris and his team went on to win the Academy Award for Best Short Film at the end of the season.

Join Lift-Off Global Network in the heart of Hollywood for a filmmaking showcase that puts you at the centre of everything.

You will be joined by other first-time filmmakers in similar positions as yourself looking to gain an insight into the film industry. As well as giving you the support you need to get your work seen, it is also crucial that you meet with other filmmakers in the industry, build relationships for potential collaborations, and receive constructive feedback on your work. At this showcase, you will meet with producers and storytellers from all sections of the filmmaking world, all keen to see your project and support your future ambitions.

The film industry seems like a closed door for many. Festival rejections and lack of work opportunities with a very high career-fence to climb seem like a constant struggle- we want to change that. With this in mind, we have decided that the doors need to open and filmmakers starting out should be given valuable insights into how they can use their skills and develop them so that they may become the future of the business.

This initiative has been created to give filmmakers on their initial journey the tools, platform, and advice to build their careers from the right starting point. Helping first-time filmmakers to realise their professional lives within film is a necessity that needs to be achieved.
