Every year, The Moonrise Film Festival finds today’s great and emerging filmmakers, and showcases their work in the historic Sunset Theatre in Wells, BC. We pride ourselves on screening freshly independent animation, documentary, experimental, and fiction film from across Canada and around the world. Since our inception, we've screened over 210 short and feature films, with over 40 filmmakers attending our festival and participating in intimate Q&A sessions!

We make a point of honoring our selected filmmakers by having our audiences vote on their favourite films in each of our 7 short film categories: Drama, Comedy, Documentary, Animation, Experimental, Canadian, and International. All award winning filmmakers are posted on our website, and given lifetime free submissions to our festival, along with a full pass to our next season!
