About the festival

No other event in the last 75 years has revealed the weaknesses of our society as clearly as the COVID-19 pandemic. That's reason enough for us to launch the UNIFIED FILMMAKERS FESTIVAL, which gives filmmakers all over the world an opportunity to tell their personal story about this extraordinary time.

Our focus will not only be on serious dramatic stories. We are open to films of any genre, from low-end to high-end. Only if we succeed in reaching our audience can we make a difference with our films.

And this is just the beginning: our first festival, which is in cooperation with the MUNICH FILMFESTIVAL 2021 is dedicated to COVID-19, but we will concentrate on other socially relevant topics that are of global importance in the years to come. With this concept, the UNIFIED FILMMAKERS FESTIVAL wants to become an annual event in the festival scene.

After the award ceremony, there will be an anthology of the best short films as well as an own feature film, which chronologically summarizes and illustrates the respective annual theme.

The anthology as well as the feature film are part of the worldwide festival tour, which offers a curated short film program until mid 2022.

Join us on our worldwide journey! We want to entertain, to criticize, to challenge, to be sad, to laugh and to make you think twice. We want to unify and interact in a period of time in which this is possible as never before and in ways we haven't tried before.

But most importantly, we want you!

The UNIFIED FILMMAKERS jury (to be announced soon) will select the best films for the festival, screened on www.unifiedfilmmakers.com and a larger selection on YouTube.

Each category, until 2 min. and 2-15 min., will be awarded with an Audience and Jury Prize. The same counts for our Marketing clips.
In addition, each genre will be awarded a Prize.
(More information to come)

The best short-films will be displayed live on screen at the MUNICH FILMFESTIVAL 2021.

Terms and rules

Every genre is welcomed and appreciated. However, commercials and musicals have to follow strict guidelines:

Commercials: ONLY social commercials
Musicals: NO music videos (except narrative ballads)

Technical requirements: Due to processing reasons, please upload your short-film on basis of either Youtube or Vimeo, if possible. The films must be visible on a screen in appropriate quality, regardless of the format in which they were shot. English subtitles are obligatory! Resolution: min. 1920x1080 / HD

Entry Fee: As the Unified Filmmakers Festival, we need to cover our costs for the technical maintenance as well as the management of the platforms.

Depending on your location (country) of production, we kindly ask you to pay the fee accordingly. The entry fees will be available in 3 segments (Red/Yellow/Green) in order to support filmmakers from different social backgrounds as well as to alleviate any financial limitations.

The world map displayed on the front page provides the respective price segments for each submission.

In addition, if you submit your short-film before the 1st of January you’ll get a discount in form of an early bird ticket. Please keep in mind that the Unified Filmmakers Team is able to verify the accuracy of your entry fee through your order form.

Our vision is to bridge traditional structures in the film and entertainment industry with the uprising digitalization. Providing a platform that is socially relevant and for everyone to join, we can change the present course of communication, beliefs and shared memorabilia.

We look forward to your contribution in making this a great success story!
