The 33rd Annual United States Super 8mm Film + Digital Video Festival will be held February 20-21, 2021 at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey. The Festival encourages any genre (animation, documentary, experimental, fiction, personal, etc.), but the work must have predominantly originated on Super 8mm/8mm film, Digital video or 8mm video formats. Terms and rules

ENTRY REGULATIONS:
This competition is open to U.S. and International entries. Maximum film age is 24 months. No repeat entries. All entries must have originally been shot predominantly on Super 8/8mm film or Digital/Hi 8/8mm video. Digital works include HD, miniDV, DigiBeta, etc. Video transfers of films are accepted. Send entries in DVD mailers, reusable containers or bubble wrap envelopes. Note: Please do not use fiber-filled envelopes or oversized boxes when sending entries, as they can cause serious damage to Flashdrives, DVDs and Blu Ray discs and, subsequently, to video equipment. Entries that we receive that have been damaged or otherwise compromised in this way may be rejected from entry. If a work is selected for public screening entrants are contractually obligated to provide an exhibition copy suitable for screening and cannot withdraw their film from the festival. Please note we do not pay screening fees. Only finalists are notified in advance that their work has been selected to be part of the Festival.

ENTRY FORMATS:
Submit a DVD or Blu Ray or flash drive or on-line screeners for pre-screening. If chosen for festival screening two high quality region free DVDs or Blu Ray discs or flash drives must be sent for festival screening. Include title, length, year, and maker's name on these.
A mp4 or mov download must also be sent.

LIABILITY: Filmmaker shall indemnify and hold United States Super 8 Film and Digital Video Festival harmless from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim in connection with the Film involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and/or loss of or damage to the screening videos submitted. In particular, Filmmaker expressly warrants it has obtained all necessary copyright clearances for original works of authorship used in the Film. Although every possible care will be taken with Flashdrives, DVDs and Blu Ray discs while in our possession, we cannot accept responsibility for unforeseen loss or damage of entries. Please do not send originals.

REPRODUCTION AGREEMENT: REPRODUCTION AGREEMENT: Submission of an entry gives the festival permission to have accepted work exhibited, photographed, locally telecast, streamed online, and reproduced either in part or whole, for exhibition, educational or publicity purposes.
