About the festival

2021... The Festival Is Bigger. More Sponsors. More Prizes. More Films.

As of "May the 4th" (be with you)... we're open for entries for 2021. (News will be added through the year).

We are happy to confirm that Foundry, and Stan Winston School of Character Arts, and Final Draft are prize sponsoring again in 2021. We would also like to welcome Crixus Studios as additional prize sponsors providing studio time for film-makers as prizes. More details are on the Facebook page.

Additionally, Final Draft have also offered an extra prize of a copy of their amazing Final Draft 11 software for the winning prize of a NEW category for best script/screenplay. This award is only for the films entering the festival that send an accompanying script/screenplay. Do not send scripts for films not completed and entered into the festival (they will be returned unopened).

The Wild Indie Sci-Fi and Fantasy Film Festival 2020 was hosted at the Greenwich iMAX Odeon Theatre in London, with the event prizes sponsored by Foundry (the DVFX software wizards), and Stan Winston School of Character Arts (the Physical VFX wizards) and included the Micro 2 minute Sci-Fi Challenge in collaboration with London Short Film. There were a number of challenges, awards and prizes for Micro (2min), Mini (5min), and Short (20min) film categories within the genre.

Now... We Have More awards. More Fun.. for both film maker and audience alike.

We are also going to be taking a version of the festival online to ensure a wider audience.

On that note... we all know that we are living through strange unprecedented times with the Corona Virus and CoVid19 lockdowns. We hope you all keep Hale and Hearty. We wont bore you with detailed arrangements other than we have pencilled the 6th February for the 2021 festival screening date at the Greenwich Odeon iMax Theatre again (with all it's Covid safety measures in place). BUT... we have contingencies in place should our current lockdowns be extended, including discussions ongoing with two digital platforms for virtual festivals... this will be progressed to allow the festival's winners and schedule to be seen by more people.
