SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Any narrative (live action or animation) or documentary film up to 15 minutes in length.
Current enrollment in high school or equivalent level is required.
Premiere status is not required.
You must fully comply with these Entry Rules & Regulations, including all deadlines, film length, entry material and other requirements.
Non-English language works must have English subtitles at the time submitted.
Do not submit your film until it is complete.
Films must have been completed after January 2017.
While we acknowledge that teachers offer assistance with the creation of many of the films, we do require that the film actually be written and directed by a high school student or students. We sometimes receive submissions which were written and/or directed by the teacher and filmed with the help of the students. While these films do not qualify for the YF student filmmaker competition itself, we are happy to accept them in a special “Teacher/Student Category” which judges the films according to those parameters and provides separate acknowledgment. They are not eligible for prize money.
Once an entry payment has been processed we cannot provide a refund. If a payment is disputed, the account holder may be subject to any fees.
All films submitted and information about the filmmaker may be used in Cinema Ed communications, website or other materials and/or for marketing Cinema Ed's Young Filmmakers Track.
